We are searching for an engaging, passionate, Distance Learning Media Specialist-Title III Grant to help lead our College during this ever-changing Community College environment.

Essential Functions: 

This position applies knowledge of learning science, instructional design, and educational technology to assist faculty in the design and development of online, blended, and face-to-face teaching and learning environments. This position reports to the Executive Director of Innovation and Learning and is a member of the Cougar Innovation Center (CIC) Team. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Other Responsibilities: 

  • In collaboration with the CIC Instructional Designer, provides instruction, training, and technical assistance in the delivery and production of online courses. 
  • Works with instructors and the CIC Team to create highly interactive and engaging learning experiences for both students and faculty learners. 
  • Works with faculty collaboratively to plan, design, develop, and revise asynchronous and synchronous course materials.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, oversight, and inventory of all Title III media and content creation equipment and software.
  • Responsible for the analysis, design, and best-practice development and implementation of online and distance education courses, video production, video software editing, and web-based training. 
  • Develops training materials and workshops including online and face-to-face training sessions, self-help documents, online tutorials, and other multimedia materials to assist both faculty and students with the use of course management tools and other technologies.
  • Collects and analyzes data needed for evaluation and reporting purposes. 
  • Instruct 5 sections of courses in qualified discipline annually beginning in FY 2026.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Innovation and Learning. 

Travel Requirements:

Some travel is required to all CBC sites, state conferences, and meetings. 

Environment: 

Work is generally performed in an office setting. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree with 18 hours in a Transfer and General Education/CTE teaching discipline or a bachelor's degree with the ability to teach in a CTE (Career and Technology Education) discipline.

Familiarity with usability and accessibility requirements such as ADA Section 508, copyright and universal design for learning strategies in online learning environments is essential. 
Familiarity with using media software, equipment, editing tools, and online applications for teaching. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Education
  Degree Equals Master's
  Details Equals Major in Instructional Design/Technology or Learning Experience Design and/or experience working in distance education. Experience working with the Quality Matters Rubric 7th Edition and Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard Learn Ultra. Prior experience in faculty development or workshops for professional development in higher education.
