Position Summary

This position ensures college compliance with federal, state and private foundation regulations and policies and oversees pre- and post-award processes to ensure federal, state, and private foundation contract compliance.

MAJOR DUTIES

 

  • Provides guidance to grant recipients to ensure college compliance with federal, state and private grant requirements.

 

  • Reviews grant applications and reports; forwards to the Executive Vice President for review and approval.

 

  • Oversees the development, implementation, evaluation and close-out of federal, state and private foundation grants.

 

  • Collaborates with the Grant Accounting office.

 

  • Works closely with other departments, including grants development, grant accounting, finance, and project staff, on project deliverables to ensure accurate program outcomes, program requirements, and financial reporting.

 

  • Works with program staff to develop and maintain grant awards and agreements.

 

  • Partners with staff to improve overall grant data collection and reporting systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization-wide grants database.

 

  • Ensures compliance with the submission of programmatic and financial post-award reports and closeout of grants in government online portals/systems.

 

  • Interprets applicable regulations and provides training and technical support to project staff in grants management and compliance.

 

  • Supports the capacity building of managers and others involved in grant management and implementation.

 

  • Identifies and anticipates issues and proactively contributes to solutions.

 

  • Prepares monthly status reports of grant activities, program exceptions, and recommendations for the leadership team and oversight team.

 

  • Actively participates in team meetings, workgroups, and organization-wide initiatives.

 

  • Performs related duties.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

 

The Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.

 

GUIDELINES

 

Guidelines include grant agreements, Office of Management and Budget circulars, state regulations, and college and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.

  • The work consists of varied duties to ensure college compliance with grant requirements. Strict deadlines regulations contribute to the complexity of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, public administration, or related fields required.

 

  • Minimum of two to three years of experience with government grants administration, budgets, contracts, and/or compliance.
