Essential Responsibilities:

  • The position reports to the Director of the Nursing within the School of Health Sciences The position is responsible for teaching nursing courses, supervising students including some late afternoon and evening clinical experiences, conducting pre-and post-clinical conferences, and will evaluate student progress, prepare written evaluations, and meet/advise with students.
  • Other duties will include curriculum planning and revision; attending school and department meetings; and participating in college committees. He/she will maintain posted office hours; substitute as needed; and perform other tasks as assigned by the program director.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in with a major in Nursing from an accredited university program required. BSN who is currently enrolled in graduate coursework may be considered, however Master’s degree would need to be completed within 5 years from date of hire.
  • Must hold current R.N. license issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing, or in a Compact State, or be eligible for licensure in the State of New Mexico by endorsement.
  • The successful candidate will value diversity, have a multi-cultural perspective with adult and minority students, possess exemplary communication and team collaboration skills, demonstrate strong clinical skills and be highly motivated to implement a quality-nursing program with a strong commitment to the community college philosophy.
