Salary Range: $31,200- $32,100 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours: up to 40 hours per week, 3pm-12am Monday-Friday; non-exempt.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
Participate in the custodial maintenance and care of the university. Maintains an orderly, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment within our campus buildings for our students, faculty, customers, and staff.
Core Responsibilities
• Responsible for custodial maintenance.
• Performs custodial maintenance of buildings to include refinishing of floors; cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, waxing/polishing, and scrubbing of tile work, floors, stairways, hallways, restrooms, offices, laboratories, locker rooms, and building lobbies; emptying waste receptacles; polishing of nickel and brass work; cleaning, dusting, and polishing furniture, and equipment; and cleans/maintains restrooms.
• Washes windows and moves furniture; removes and empties paper recycling bins; washes and polishes drinking fountains.
• Assists in moving office furniture; and prepares auditoriums and other areas for meetings and special events.
• Distributes and maintains inventory of facility maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Ensures the entrance areas of the building remain clean and neat.
• Reports safety hazards/out-of-order items.
• Ensures energy conservation by turning off all non-necessary lights (classrooms, offices, etc.).
• Operates state motor vehicles as required to perform the above duties.
• Completes daily logs accurately and efficiently.
• May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.
• In the absence of the supervisor, shall provide supervision to employees in that zone, may receive written instruction or needs to fill out forms; and assist in issuing and securing keys.
• Tests and evaluates new cleaning products.
• Assists supervisors with yearly inventory of all custodial equipment and supplies as required by university policy.
• Participates in preparing auditoriums and other areas for meetings, seminars, and other student, faculty, and staff functions.
• Promotes an environment of safety and environmental protection by working immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents; following University safety plans/procedures/protocols; and participating in appropriate safety training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 8th-grade education.
• Experience as a building attendant or its equivalent.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and materials including the safe use of supplies and equipment.
• Ability to safely use industrial cleaning equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as a building attendant or equivalent within a college or a university environment.

Working Conditions
• Office environment.
• Research laboratories may pose hazardous conditions.
• May work around chemicals.
• May be required to work weekends and holidays. Will be required to have a flexible work schedule, including but not limited to, working evenings, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required.
Physical Demands:
• Use of manual dexterity.
• Duties require walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, stretching, and climbing ladders.
This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
