Salary Range: Up to $47,000- $50,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
To lead and develop all aspects of the Recovery Center and campus recovery communities and provide professional services to students in need of recovery and support, fostering a positive community environment, and educating the campus on recovery and support strategies.
Responsible for leading the planning, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of theory and evidence-based services, interventions and education programs focused on substance use recovery and mental health recovery for all students. Practices discretion and confidentiality of health-related information are required in all matters.
Core Responsibilities
• Oversees the day to day operation UTSA's collegiate recovery program.
• Supervises student employees, trainees, or other staff as assigned.
• Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates program activities, events, and services.
• Maintains the Recovery Center's accreditation status by ensuring services and practices are evidence-based and meet the current standards of the field.
• Identifies program needs, provides cost analysis and maintains program and event budgets. Submit budget reports when applicable.
• Identifies, researches, writes and prepares grants and other funding opportunities. Coordinates grants and fundraising projects for program enhancement.
• Provides assessments, interventions, referrals, and treatment within the scope of licensure.
• Provides individual and group recovery counseling, coaching, support and referrals.
• Provides education, training, presentations, discussions and outreach to students and the university community on alcohol, drugs, addiction and recovery.
• Prepares and maintains documentation of activities and services.
• Advises student organizations and groups related to recovery.
• Implements marketing tactics using current technology and media strategies, in coordination with Student Affairs Communications.
• Conducts quality assurance and evaluations of program and department goals. Prepares reports, statistical data, and analyses of programs and interventions.
• Conducts research and assessments on the health status of current students. Identifies needs, risks, trends, and issues among the student population; develops goals and outcomes for interventions.
• Monitors substance use trends occurring in the local, state, nation or global levels.
• Partners with Wellbeing Services, Student Affairs, student organizations and other university departments.
• Participate in events and programming teams, taskforces, and committees to enhance program reach and effectiveness.
• Serves on or represents the Recovery Center, Wellbeing and Student Affairs on various workgroups, taskforces and committees.
• Contributes to departmental and divisional student-centered initiatives.
• May serve on divisional teams for programming, communications, expressive activities or others.
• Monitors compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to privacy and confidentiality.
• Develops relationships, partnerships and collaborations with local and regional schools, institutions of higher education, treatment centers, and other community organizations
• Serves as a consultant to the university community on mental health and wellbeing topics.
• Attends professional conferences and professional development trainings and in-service
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human development, public health, or a closely related field of study.
• A minimum of two (2) years of direct experience working in a treatment setting, or with the recovery community at large.
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of recovery philosophies, harm-reduction, substance use disorders, eating disorders and other behavioral addictions, and recovery support services
• Additional education may be substituted for experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, or other specialty related to job function from an accredited institution
• Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC).
• At least one (1) year of professional experience working with a collegiate recovery community, preferably in a large urban university setting or other recovery community organization serving young adults.
• Experience working in a college/university setting.
• Demonstrated understanding of college student development issues, emerging needs, and interests.
• Lived experience as a student in a collegiate recovery community.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience in development, fund-raising, budgeting, grant management or grant writing.
• Experience managing confidential private health information.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word, Outlook and standard office equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Working Conditions

• Some work at both the Main and Downtown campuses may be required.

• Ability to push, pull, stoop, walk and utilize fine and gross skills and manipulation.
This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
