Salary Range: $41,817- $46,315 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
To provide professional knowledge, advice, and counseling skills regarding student financial aid programs. Responsible for a decision-making process that requires initiative and judgment related to financial aid and scholarship processing and to meet the needs of students and parents.
Core Responsibilities
Level I
• Uses discretion and independent judgment to advise and counsel students and parents in solving their educational financial problems through scholarships, loans, grants, work-study, and financial counseling.
• Addresses questions and provides counseling in person, through written communication, phone calls, and emails as needed.
• Processes financial aid and scholarship applications, awards and disburses funds, and tracks and monitors student eligibility as needed.
• Offers professional judgment decisions on student files, collecting supporting documentation and making necessary adjustments. This may include satisfactory academic progress appeals, cost of living adjustments, dependency overrides, or any other extenuating circumstance the student and/or parent presents.
• Awards, revises, and/or approves the awarding of financial aid and scholarships through the specific controls of program policy and guidelines.
• Assists with conducting on and off-campus presentations, seminars, resource tables, and/or workshops for students.
• Uses independent judgment to provide support to colleges and departments as needed.
• Stays abreast of regulations that govern all financial aid and scholarship programs.
• Interprets and maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional policies, procedures, and regulations of financial aid and scholarships.
• Participates in the review, revision, and interpretations of complex rules, regulations, procedures, and policies related to financial aid and scholarships and team specialty areas.
• Assists in developing and revising financial aid consumer information material, publications, and brochures for currently enrolled students, prospective students and their parents, colleges, departments, and the university community.
• Provides periodic reports as needed to leadership.
• Attends state and regional meetings/conferences as necessary.
• As necessary, participate in committees and/or task forces across campus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Summary
Responsible for financial aid outreach, financial literacy, and default prevention activities. Responsible for promoting financial aid opportunities and assisting students and families in navigating the financial aid process. This role involves conducting outreach activities, providing one-on-one counseling, and collaborating with community organizations to assist students with applying for Financial Aid. The position is also responsible for educating students about the University's Financial literacy curriculum which involves money management, student loan repayment and default prevention.
Core Responsibilities
Level II
• Responsible for fielding and developing financial aid outreach events for both current and prospective students as well as community agencies.
• Assist the Financial Literacy Program, by overseeing Financial Success student workers and educating students about money management, student loan repayment and how to apply for Financial Aid
• Advise prospective, continuing, and reentering students, including special populations and high-risk students, and their parents, on the availability of various financial aid programs, Satisfactory Academic Progress standards, and Financial Aid applications.
• Responsible for maintaining financial literacy program and updating financial literacy presentations, web pages, and pushing programming for literacy
• Counsels students about financial aid and budgeting options either through appointments, over the phone, emails via Salesforce (CRM), or at events
• Coordinates and maintains liaisons with campus departments, high schools, and other community agencies as required; represents the University at outreach functions; collaborates with other departments to provide accurate financial aid information at general outreach events.
• Maintains knowledge in Title IV regulations and changes to repayment plans and cohort default rate
challenges.
• Provides overflow processing assistance to other Financial and Scholarships teams as requested.
• Attends regional, state and national conferences as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Level I
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Additional experience may substitute for required education.
• One (1) year of experience in finance, customer service, or working with students OR two (2) years of experience as a student employee in financial aid, scholarships, student lending, one-stop, and/or enrollment management.
• Master's degree can substitute for required experience.
Level II
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Additional experience may substitute for required education.
• Two (2) years of financial aid, scholarships, student lending, financial aid, and/or enrollment management/services experience.
• Master's degree can substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Level I
• Master's degree from an accredited university.
• One (1) year of higher education experience to include financial aid and/or scholarship.
Level II
• Master's degree from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of financial aid and/or scholarship experience.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Both levels
• Group and individual presentation and meeting facilitation skills required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, multi-tasking skills, flexibility, and the ability to work cooperatively with others in a dynamic environment.
Additional Information
• Depending on finalist's qualifications, position will be classified as a level I or level II.
