Overview:
Reporting to the director of donor relations and communications, the staff associate in donor relations and communications helps further Salem State University’s stewardship activities, acting as a key contributor of strategic communications focused on the impact of philanthropy. The staff associate partners on crafting content for publications, reports, profiles, and other stewardship opportunities that highlight donor impact, the university’s mission and funding priorities. The staff associate must excel in written communication and project management to help the donor relations and communications team collaborate with areas across advancement to capitalize on stewardship opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Minimum of three years experience in non-profit development or higher education, specifically in communications, fundraising and/or donor relations.
3. Proven writing, editing and research skills are essential. Comfort writing in a wide variety o diverse and a complex subject matter areas.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with leadership, donors, colleagues, alumni, students, and external organizations.
5. Previous project management experience with demonstrated ability to manage workflows and multiple projects effectively, including developing timelines, setting priorities and coordinating multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
6. Strong time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines.

This is a hybrid position in Salem, MA with some on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
