Salary Range: $5,000 per three credit hours.

Hours: 2 three credit hour courses (1 course in the Fall, 1 course in the Spring), exempt.

Essential Functions

This is an open lecturer position for the Graduate Program in Engineering Education, Biomedical Eng. and Chemical Eng. Department (BECE). The lecturer is expected to teach two courses in the graduate program in Engineering Education for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.

• The Fall course to be taught is the “Foundations of Engineering Education Research Methodologies, EGR 6653”. This course provides students with an introduction to engineering education research. The course allows students to critically explore, analyze, and apply theoretical and conceptual educational frameworks to guide and conduct engineering education research.
• The Spring course to be taught is “Engineering Education Methods, EGR 6183”. This course is designed to allow graduate students to acquire foundational knowledge on theories of teaching and learning in engineering education. The course utilizes learner-centered, evidence-based pedagogy and assessment principles in engineering learning environments. This course provides an opportunity to gain knowledge about the role of engineers as educators, mentors, and advisors through critical examinations of theory, disciplinary literacies, and empirical research in engineering education.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Education (or Engineering Education) and a BS or MS in Engineering/Engineering Technology (or Engineering Education).
• Expertise in STEM Education or Engineering Education Research.
• This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.

Working Conditions
