Salary Range: $51,000- $55,000/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

 

Hours: 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

 

Job Summary

 

Assist Director and Assistant Director of Young Artist Programs in managing and overseeing various youth arts community programs including Saturday Morning Discovery, Mobile Arts Program, Summer, Spring and Fall classes, and scholarships. Will work with Director to oversee to all aspects of these programs including community development, engagement, engagement with families, growing partnerships, staff schedules, supply purchases, and budget development. Additional responsibilities include assisting with data collection, program evaluation, reporting and materials/purchase orders. Position may be required to work some Saturdays on site at UTSA (University of Texas at San Antonio) Southwest campus to oversee the Saturday Morning Discovery program or other Saturday classes.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Works closely with Director to build and maintain relationships with artist educators, program participants and community partners.
  • Creates a positive, welcoming, accepting, and safe atmosphere for participants and educators leading by example with a high level of attention paid to customer service.
  • Oversees the planning, organization, and scheduling of community artist educators while also managing the program needs in partnership with other coordinators and staff.
  • Aids with set up of facilities, equipment, and supplies for program needs as assigned.
  • Collaborates with artist educators to refresh, implement, assess activities, and evaluate overall program.
  • Collaborates in the development of marketing materials in support of YAP programming.
  • Works with the Registration office to maintain accurate participation registration information paying particular attention to program policies and procedures.
  • Assists with managing finances for programs, tracking supply purchases and communicating needs to Director.
  • Assists as needed with public interactions for other YAP programming on site (youth art classes, Fiesta Arts Fair).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in professional development or training, planning and management.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.

 

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

 

  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems.
  • Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Environment:

 

  • Office environment.
  • Will be required to work Saturdays.

 

Physical Demands:

 

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

 

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
