Job Summary:

PLNU is looking for a highly organized and service-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the work of the Vice President for Mission and Calling, the Vice President for Intercultural Education, Retention, and Community Success Initiatives, and the President's Chief of Staff. You will be a collaborative teammate who communicates clearly, manages multiple priorities with professionalism, and helps ensure that day-to-day operations and special initiatives run smoothly across these leadership areas.

 

Salary:

Pay range $26.89 - $30.25

Actual salary offered is determined by the candidate's experience, education, skills, and other factors, including internal equity and university funding resources.

 

Internal Classification: Career Track - Professional, Job Level - 3

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement working both in-person and remotely.

Job Description:

 

What We're Looking For:

 

  • Experience and knowledge of high-level administrative support in a university or similar setting.

 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other relevant administrative software.

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with professionalism and discretion.

 

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also contributing to a collaborative team.

 

  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and the ability to interact effectively across a broad community.

 

  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred

 

What You'll Be Doing:

 

  • Provide direct administrative support, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, processing reimbursements, and maintaining organized systems for each leader.

 

  • Support the planning, logistics, and communication for events, meetings, and activities hosted by the Vice Presidents and Chief of Staff.

 

  • Assist with initiatives related to mission, vocational calling, belonging, retention, and institutional planning, including managing tracking systems, timelines, and follow-up communication.

 

  • Serve as a professional and responsive point of contact for internal and external stakeholders across various communication channels.

 

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information and conversations.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with significant experience as an administrative assistant.

 

  • Experience supporting multiple leaders or departments is preferred.

 

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other relevant administrative software.

 

  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and ability to interact effectively across a broad community.

 

  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

 

  • Demonstrated commitment to Christian higher education and a passion for service to students.

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Sitting for periods greater than one hour.
