Examples of Duties
This is a full-time, AFT position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Note: This position is in the "NL" category of employment (non-fixed work week) An AFT- NL professional staff member or librarian who is required to work beyond 35 hours shall be compensated through compensatory time off. Compensatory time shall be earned for hours worked beyond the normal work week, or on an employee's regular day off, if requested and approved by their supervisor.

Internal candidates salary will be calculated based on Union negotiated contracts

JOB SUMMARY
The Affiliations & Advisement Coordinator is a full-time (12-month) position responsible for monitoring and managing all aspects of both clinical and academic affiliation agreements, advising the Accelerated BSN, Bridge ABSN, and Bachelor's of Science in Health Administration (BSHA) students, and updating the Nursing Handbook and Website. The Affiliations & Advisement Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean of Nursing.
DUTIES
• Coordinate, and maintain affiliation agreements for clinical sites to ensure all are executed and up-to-date; work closely with the Clinical Coordinator and Legal Department to ensure terms of agreements are accurate and contracts are renewed and in place prior to each semester; track and maintain the database.
• Advisement of all accelerated nursing (ABSN), bridge accelerated nursing (B-ABSN), and Health Administration (BSHA) students; maintain detailed, accurate advisement records, and update advisement materials when needed.
• Inform students of compliance and progression requirements; document outreach and follow up efforts.
• Oversee nursing student pre-clinical placement requirements/compliance; ensure all requirements are met prior to placement.
• Coordinate with the Office of the Registrar and Office of Admissions to ensure ABSN, Bridge ABSN, and BSHA students' audits are updated with transfer credits from other institutions as applicable.
• Provide orientation to ABSN, B-ABSN, and BSHA students upon admission to the program.
• Collaborate with the Nursing Student Success Team and Cahill Center on student advisement to communicate and schedule student support activities when necessary.
• In consultation with the faculty and staff, determine students to receive letters of dismissal from the ABSN/B-ABSN, and BSHA programs; prepare and send letters of dismissal in a timely manner, and inform the Registrar and Student Success of these dismissals; coordinate dismissal advisement meetings to discuss future plans and provide resources available.
• Issue permits and overrides in Banner for all ABSN, B-ABSN, and BSHA students.
• Maintain nursing student database for all ABSN, B-ABSN, and BSHA students; analyze database information to identify students at risk.
• Collaborate with the Nursing Student Affairs Committee and Marketing to update the web pages owned by Nursing Programs.
• Revise and upload the Nursing Programs Student Handbook.
• Send thank you letters to NP student preceptors at the end of each semester; include appropriate Nurse Practitioner re-certification documents when applicable.
• Develop cohort-specific forms used by various nursing programs; format and upload data submitted through forms.
• Assist as needed at various nursing events i.e.: Leadership Conference, Sigma Induction Ceremony, Pinning and White Coat Ceremonies.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
A Bachelor's degree in a field related to the position or equivalency is required.
EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years of professional experience in an institution of higher education or in education, or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority. Excellent written and oral communication skills, and a record of working in a collaborative setting are required.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to maintain updated knowledge related to affiliation agreements, nursing program requirements, Nursing Programs Student Handbook, clinical site requirements, program/course-specific student learning outcomes, and articulation agreements.
