Job Description:

The College of Health Sciences is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-track teaching position in the dietetics program. The University is seeking an individual capable of excellent teaching, committed to significant involvement with students both within and outside of the classroom, and interested in participating in the academic unit's service learning and/or undergraduate research programs.

The dietetics program within the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences has a strong commitment to quality teaching, and passion for building Christian community with students, a tradition of high impact academic practices, and experience in using our skills for collaborative and interdisciplinary work.

Responsibilities begin August 2026 and will include teaching a wide variety of courses in nutrition and dietetics.

Salary:

PLNU pays its faculty using a payscale based on experience and academic rank. Faculty salaries using this scale for a 2-semester appointment range from $77,357 to $133,945. The actual salary will be based on the experience, rank, and appointment term of the candidate selected to fill this position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction, primarily in the undergraduate dietetics program with potential to teach some general education, service, and graduate courses.

• Experience with clinical nutrition would complement the current strengths of the department

• Assist dietetics program director with accreditation activities

• Successful candidates will work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, parents and community members.

• Engage in personal scholarship and scholarship with students

• Advise students academically, spiritually, and socially

• Participate in departmental activities and governance

• Serve on university faculty committees/working groups and perform other normal faculty duties

• Contribute to preparing students for their post-graduate career and discovering who they are called to be

Qualifications:

• Education

• Required: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Master's degree in nutrition or related field, or PhD in nutrition or related field

• Successful masters holding applicant not holding a terminal PhD would be willing to pursue a doctorate as part of future job responsibilities

• Experience

• Evidence of a commitment to excellence in undergraduate/graduate teaching.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching students from diverse backgrounds is preferred.

• Philosophical

• Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university.

• Supportive of the religious and educational goals of the university and its sponsoring denomination.

• Personal

• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
