Essential Functions:

The Senior Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Accreditation, and Assessment provides leadership for institutional research, effectiveness, planning, accreditation, and assessment to ensure Coastal Bend College fulfills its mission and strategic priorities. The position serves as the College’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) with SACSCOC and leads data-informed decision-making processes by coordinating research, assessment, and reporting functions across the institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison Officer, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate federal and state reporting (IPEDS, THECB, etc.), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and institutional accountability.
  • Direct institutional research and analytics, including data collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination.
  • Develop and publish recurring reports (e.g., Fact Book, strategic dashboards) to support institutional decision-making.
  • Establish policies and procedures for data governance, ensuring integrity, security, and accessibility of institutional data.
  • Coordinate the College’s strategic planning process, including development, implementation, and monitoring of institutional goals and key performance indicators.
  • Support instruction, student success and engagement, and administrative units in developing outcomes, measures, and improvement plans.
  • Lead the annual cycle of institutional effectiveness reporting and assessment.
  • Provide professional development and training for faculty and staff in data analysis, assessment, and planning.
  • Collaborate with College leadership to ensure evaluation results inform institutional priorities and resource allocation.
  • Assist with funded grant projects by serving as the external evaluator for current grants and providing data, analysis, and evaluation frameworks to ensure compliance with grant requirements and support renewal or expansion opportunities.
  • Supervise Institutional Effectiveness staff and ensure effective coordination with Information Technology, Instruction, Student Success and Engagement, Talent Engagement, and Administrative Services.
  • Represent the College at state, regional, and national meetings related to accreditation, assessment, and institutional effectiveness.
  • Coordinates continuing institutional self-studies in preparation for Accreditation reviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in data science, statistics, educational research, or a related discipline (Doctorate strongly preferred).
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in institutional research, effectiveness, or accreditation in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience with federal/state reporting (IPEDS, THECB) and accreditation processes (SACSCOC preferred).
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (SPSS, SAS, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong record of leadership, collaboration, and communication in varied, student-centered environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education Degree Equals Doctoral Details Equals Doctorate in a related field. Supervisory/leadership experience in community colleges. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, assessment of student learning, and institutional accreditation. Experience presenting complex data to varied audiences, including boards, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
