This is a twelve-month, Lecturer position with expectations for teaching, service, and student advising.

Job Responsibilities:
Beyond teaching, service, and student advising additional responsibilities in this role remain consistent with all in the program and include the following:

Instruction:

  • Actively participate in classroom teaching and instruction of (undergraduate and graduate) students.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation and outcome analysis of students, assessment, curriculum, etc. as related to ongoing accreditation and program review.  Work with the Academic Coordinator and Program Director in preparation of Self Study materials and application for ongoing accreditation and program reviews, as applicable.                 

Professional Activities:

  • Maintain current professional certification and New York State licensure (or eligibility).
  • Participate in local, regional, and/or national professional organizations and attend meetings when possible.
  • Maintain current clinical expertise by practicing, or gaining clinical exposure, in a local hospital, clinic, or private practice, when applicable and contingent on negotiation with Program Director.
  • Serve as a liaison to the local PA and medical communities.
  • Provide formal student advisement and documentation to a designated group of PA students.

Program, College & Institutional Service:

  • Participate in PA program meetings, recruitment, admission, and graduation events.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous assessment and other program accreditation work, when applicable.
  • Participate in committee assignments, at the College of Health Sciences and Technology and Institute level (when applicable).

Within the College of Health Sciences and Technology, RIT's physician assistant program provides a foundation of science and liberal arts; and prepares students to provide compassionate, patient-centered healthcare. The program is committed to developing the ethical values, medical knowledge, professionalism, and interpersonal communication skills essential for inter-professional, team-based, clinical practice.
