El Camino College is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join its Student Health Services team!
The Registered Nurse provides healthcare services to students, ensuring their physical and mental well-being. Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, administering treatments for common illnesses and injuries, managing medical records, offering health and well-being education, and collaborating with other medical and mental healthcare professionals to promote a healthy campus environment.
The Registered Nurse will serve as a vital resource for students, faculty, and staff, supporting a culture of holistic student wellness and addressing medical needs within the collegiate community, both in the Student Health Center and the Center for Well-Being.
The Registered Nurse will provide confidential holistic health care services to currently enrolled students, which includes health and well-being promotion, illness prevention, and health and psycho-education.
The Registered Nurse will provide the following types of service to individuals in Student Health Services: treatment for common illnesses and injuries (including medical and mental health first aid), student outreach, family planning education, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatment, and general/preventative health screenings.
The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative relationship with physicians, nurse practitioners, administrative staff, and clinical psychologists.
Faculty assignments may include morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend hours.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in Nursing with a minimum of two years' experience in the discipline; AND
A valid, current California Registered Nursing License; AND
A current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certificate; AND
Commitment to diversity. Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of college students, and of individuals with disabilities. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how their experience with these factors relates to successfully achieving the goals of the position.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a California Public Health Nurse certificate.
Two years' experience in ambulatory and adult public health.
Prior experience in college health is highly desirable.
Prior experience in approaching work and interactions with colleagues and/or students in an equity minded manner and the ability to provide an inclusive and welcoming work/educational environment.

SALARY:
Part-time non-instructional faculty. The beginning rate is $62.34 - $82.80, per hour depending on education and experience.

This is a on-call, hourly and part-time, temporary position for the spring semester.
