HR Specialist, Recruiting & Onboarding

Essential Functions:  

Coastal Bend College is seeking a dedicated and dynamic HR Specialist to join our Human Resources team, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, and professional development. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in creating a seamless onboarding experience for new employees and facilitating ongoing professional development opportunities that enhance the skills and capabilities of our faculty and staff. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Recruiting:

• Serve as main contact for ATS. 

• Scheduling Interviews for applicants with the ATS. 

• Pre-boarding of new hires. 

• All aspects of the recruiting functions 

2. Onboarding:

• Develop, implement, and enhance the onboarding process tailored for new hires in an academic environment. 

• Conduct orientation sessions and create training materials that introduce new employees to college policies, culture, and resources. 

• Collaborate with department heads to ensure all necessary equipment, resources, and access are provided to new team members. 

• Monitor and evaluate onboarding processes, gathering feedback from new hires to drive continuous improvement. 

 3. Professional Development:

• Identify and assess training needs within the community of college and design programs that support faculty and staff for career growth. 

• Coordinate and deliver workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on professional skills, educational methods, and strategic initiatives. 

• Manage and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. 

• Partner with external educational organizations and training providers to offer specialized development opportunities.
